A Toolkit for youth-led change on food systems

ABOUT

Welcome to WWF’s Youth Advocacy Toolkit Platform.
The Youth Advocacy Toolkit is for young people keen to create change around food systems and sustainable diets for the better of the planet.
It spotlights the different roles youth can play in building a better world and has been co-created in consultation with young people.
This toolkit will help you become a more confident changemaker by providing you with the tools to engage in advocacy work on a local, national and regional level.

Why food?

Global food production and consumption are the single largest human pressures on nature.
30%
Together they emit almost 1/3rd of global greenhouse gases.
EU
EU diets: High consumption of animal products makes it one of the most unsustainable in the world
1/3
1/3 of the food produced in the planet goes to waste

A global shift toward healthier, more sustainable diets will:

Help combat climate change

Improve human health and food security

Reduce biodiversity loss

Save lives

“The WWF Youth Advocacy Toolkit was so helpful for brainstorming and creating a project and it is also useful for my university projects because it is a great and easy path to follow and define a certain problem, idea or solution.”
Berrin Atanasova, Austria
The WWF Youth Advocacy Toolkit was instrumental in refining my action project ideas. It provided a comprehensive framework, practical skills, and real-life examples that empowered me to effectively advocate for environmental issues. Highly recommended!
Mohamed Ahmed, Sweden
“The WWF Youth Advocacy Toolkit was useful and helped me get started with something I burn for and could combine it with other aspects to help both society and the nature. It gave me new aspects about how hard it is to accomplish something but yet so interesting to continue.”
